Trauma-informed services are informed by an understanding of how trauma, such as interpersonal violence, victimization, injustice, and discrimination, affect individuals and communities. Trauma-informed care (TIC) provides a new perspective where care and service providers start with shifting perspective from “What is wrong with you?” to “What has happened to you?” This change reduces blame and shame, while helping build an understanding of how the past impacts the present, an important awareness supporting healing, recovery, and resilience.
Through my deep and broad understanding of and experience with trauma and its myriad effects, I offer tailored consultation for organizations seeking to infuse a trauma-informed framework into program design, development and evaluation, and into staff development and support.
Please email or call to discuss the needs of your organization/agency and ways we might work together.
